Chris Soper
Adventure Guide
Growing up in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Chris was the first angler in his family and at the age of 10 he was fishing everyday. As he puts it, “the river just called to me”. By the time he was 14 he had caught his first White Sturgeon and spent all his free time when not fishing, tying flies, making spinners and tying leader boards for a local tackle shop in trade for what he needed to cure his addiction. Chris has now been guiding for 6 years and is our lead guide in the Fraser River Canyon. His favourite fish to guide for is White Sturgeon with clients. He says “there's something about their size and power that makes people lose their minds, helping people catch the biggest hardest fighting fish of their lives is the best feeling .”

Curtis Meyers
Adventure Guide
Curtis was born into a fishing family and has been a sport fisherman all his life. He grew up in the fraser Valley with all our local rivers as his playground. He started working in tackle shops when he was 15 and obtained his own professional guiding license on his 19th birthday (the first day he was legally able to do so). Curtis has never worked outside the angling industry and has no plans to. If it swims he can catch it and probably will do so with a fly rod (especially if you tell him it can’t be done), but what is most amazing is that he would almost rather take someone else there and teach them to catch it. As Curtis puts it “Fishing is not an obsession, it is not a way of life, it is not a hobby or a pastime.......Fishing is who I am.

Darren Mulrooney
Adventure Guide
Darren has been fishing for as long as he can remember. “When I was a kid, I'd bike anywhere I could to catch fish,” he puts it. His uncle was an fisherman on the Fraser and often took out his brother and Darren. He has been avidly fishing the Fraser river and other waters for over 20 years now. Guiding has become a true passion and just having the availability to be part of people's fishing experiences is what he lives for. He gets excited with every fish landed, big or small. Taking new fishermen or kids out for pinks is also one of his favorite days on the water. Darren’s best fishing trip is the first time his son caught a bigger trout than him..... 5 years ago and he still hears about it. Darren also enjoys anything outdoors and spending that time with his family. His is an avid hunter by both rifle and bow. He competes locally as well as on a provincial and national level.

Jeff Welch
Adventure Guide
Jeff Welch was pretty much born with a fishing rod in his hand. There is no passion Jeff has that is greater than fishing and being on the water. Jeff was born in Chilliwack, BC and has lived in Abbotsford for most of his life. Fishing locally on the Fraser River and it’s tributaries. He has also spent much of his time up country lake fishing and ice fishing. Ocean fishing is another love of Jeff’s. As long as there’s a body of water, that’s where you’ll find Jeff. Jeff’s first few jobs were at fishing and tackle shops. Jeff has been guiding in the Fraser valley for over ten years now. Jeff takes much pride in being able to share his love and knowledge of fishing with other people. Jeff made the best catch of his life when he met his best fishing buddy Lu-Anne, and is a proud father to his two beautiful little boys Isaiah and Lincoln.

Matt Pace
Adventure Guide
Matt is what you call a true fishing addict! Growing up fishing the ocean around Pender Harbor, he says, “I’ve been fishing since I could walk.”After finding his way to the the local rivers of the Fraser Valley he has been hooked on sturgeon, salmon and steelhead fishing. His passion for guiding comes from the memories that he creates with his clients. His two favorite highlights are helping an 11yr old girl catch a 20lb chinook on a fly rod, her first trip out on the river and the 11ft sturgeon he helped a group land last year. When not out on the river with clients or out chasing his own next memory you can also find him spending countless days hunting and horseback riding.

Steve grew up fishing many of lakes and rivers in the lower mainland of British Columbia. Glued to his dad’s side from the age of three, he watched and learned being taught his father’s many years of knowledge. Since that time he has have been a fishing fanatic spending any time time he has chasing down his next amazing catch whether it is with clients, friends, family or on his own! One of Chris’ passions is the chance he gets to give back to white sturgeon through the tagging program. He looks forward to sharing this aspect of the Sturgeon adventure with all the clients. He says “it is great as everyone gets to get hands on and help, a change to be a scientist!”“For me being a fishing guide is getting to share my passion with people from around the world, seeing their reactions when they hook that fish for the first time, and sharing stories with each other”

Mike Harrison
Adventure Guide
Mike grew up fishing along the lower Fraser River, Nicomekl and Serpentine Rivers as long as he can remember. There wasn’t a free day that you wouldn’t find him out chasing down his next trophy catch. His love for fishing stemmed very quickly into a desire to be a guide and share with others amazing experiences. Moving in the late 90’s to Mission, BC provided him the opportunity to be closer to all the Sturgeon and Salmon fishing opportunities of the Fraser. Mike’s passion for fishing is only surpassed by his angling skills. It is not uncommon to find Mike out on his days off testing new baits and scouting new locations. This is all because of his drive to provide the best adventure for each of his clients.
